Nicki Minaj is coming to Call of Duty as first female Operator
View Date:2025-01-08 16:30:07
Nicki Minaj, famous rapper, actress and entrepreneur, will be featured as an Operator in "Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 2", Activision announced Wednesday. This will be the franchise's first female Operator with a self-named character.
As part of the "50 Years of Hip Hop Celebration" in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage will be featured as Operators. However, the game developers have cautioned that Minaj's persona in the game will not be her usual "Chill Nicki" but rather "Red Ruby Da Sleeze".
Nicki teamed up with Call of Duty in 2022, appearing in a promotional video for the game's pre-order. The video, titled "Squad Up", showcased the rapper alongside other notable artists, athletes, and actors such as Lil Baby, Bukayo Saka, and Pete Davidson.
Rapper Cardi B claimed on September 27, 2022, that she lost a high-value Call of Duty contract due to a recent legal case.
"My stupid decisions from the past caused me to miss out on money now," Cardi B said. "I had a multi-million dollar Call of Duty deal on the table that I couldn’t take because of court. Guys think twice about those quick decisions! Lesson learned."
Reports confirmed that Minaj will have a signature Barbie-pink assault rifle, which is seen in her character picture, included in a special store bundle during season 5 of Warzone and Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty fans can look forward to the upcoming release of War Track packs that will include the latest and greatest hip-hop music for players to enjoy while cruising through the game's diverse maps in Warzone. Excitingly, world-renowned artists like Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage will be joining the ranks as Operators with Minaj, further enhancing the gaming experience.
The Call of Duty franchise is a dominant force in the gaming and entertainment industries, generating billions of dollars in revenue annually. Year after year, it consistently claims the top spot for best-selling game. Its immense success has attracted the participation of numerous noteworthy celebrities, including athletes and movie stars, in both marketing campaigns and game development.
