iCarly Cast Recalls Emily Ratajkowski's "Hilarious" Cameo
View Date:2025-01-07 13:05:26
More than a decade later, Emily Ratajkowski's appearance on iCarly is still so wonderful.
Just ask series co-stars Jerry Trainor (Spencer) and Nathan Kress (Freddie) who recently took a trip down memory lane, more specifically, to the original show's third season. ICYMI, Emily played the girlfriend of fan-favorite Gibby (played by Noah Munck) for two episodes back in 2009.
As for what Nathan and Jerry—who alongside Miranda Gosgrove, Laci Mosley and Jaiyden Triplett star in the show's Paramount+ revival—would have to say about her part? Well, they shared just how they feel.
"It was just hilarious," Jerry said in an exclusive interview with E! News' Francesca Amiker. "Her and Gibby, we would all just be like, 'Wait you two…together...what? How is this even working?'"
"But it worked!" Nathan added. "I'll be darned, it worked."
And for fans wondering if Emily would ever be open to returning to the series, there's a chance that somehow, we're gonna get there.
"I heard she wants to come back on the show," Jerry noted. "That's what I heard!"
Indeed, Emily told Buzzfeed in March that she'd "definitely" be down to step into the shoes of Tasha once again if the opportunity presented itself, noting that she's honored to still be called by her character's name online to this day.
But the model isn't the only one from the show's original installment that's on the radar.
"One of the things we do this season, there's a something of a reunion episode with characters from the old Ridgeway High," Nathan shared. "So, we were able to bring back people that we saw a good 10, 15 years ago and see where they are now, so a little bit of nostalgia there...We can't do a season of iCarly without bringing back some folks from the olden days."
As for when fans can live life (and breathe air) through the show again? The third season of iCarly premieres on Thursday, June 1, exclusively on Paramount+.
